The Flatiron @ Union Square project was put together by veteran local developer, Doug Beaudet. With more than fifty local projects under his belt, Doug has become renowned for his clean, beautiful and enduring construction. His renovations and new buildings carry a ‘signature look’ that have become his hallmark – blond maple flooring, custom shaker-style cabinetry in the kitchen and baths, chrome finishes, plentiful closets and storage, tailored landscaping, high ceilings and lots and lots of beautiful windows! The combination provides a timeless yet modern style that never fails to appeal.
In 1997, Doug founded and managed Apartment Rental Experts, which now has 3 offices and 38 rental agents. This gave him a unique understanding for the demands of quality residential housing. After selling the business in 2004, he began his career in residential condominium development. Doug started with renovations of 1-, 2-, and 3-family buildings in Somerville and Cambridge. His projects gradually grew in scale and complexity, beginning with his first new construction effort at 7 Bedford Street in Cambridge. Now Doug develops up to 20-unit buildings that are helping to shape the local landscape.

He is an active supporter of the Little Sisters of the Poor, a nonprofit group that provides resources and dignity to the elderly in Somerville; an active member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Cambridge; and when he’s not reading historical fiction, he’s likely at a game at Fenway Park or following the Red Sox around the country.
